Don't Wait Do What's Right
This page is educational and peer-led, not therapy. If you’re in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (e.g., 112/999/911/000/111) or visit findahelpline.com for country-specific crisis lines.
What to do right now
A safety plan is a one-page script for your hardest moments: warning signs, quick coping steps, people to contact, and ways to stay safe. Keep it short, visible, and rehearsed. You can start with the template below, then personalise it.
Why a Safety Plan Works
When your brain’s alarm is blaring, logic is quiet. A written plan reduces decision load, brings you back to the present, and makes help one tap away. DBT adds body-first skills (like TIPP and grounding) so you can calm your system enough to use the plan.
